In and around Dreumel a number of planes crashed. After the war inhabitants in the village talked about it.

Very often it were stories of hear saying; people drew their own conclusions and parts of different stories were combined to a new one.

 
Every foreigner was called an "Englishman" and someone that bailed out a plane was a "pilot."
